Nelson Mandela

From the text I can verify that Mandela had to through many sacrifices to makes his messages and beliefs get to the people such of as having compassion, peace, and many more.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela who has left us on December the 5th was a very important person because he was the first black president to serve South Africa. He also wanted to end the struggle against racial oppresion. He was not just important for that, "His tireless struggle for freedom earned him the respect of the world. His humility, his compassion and his humanity earned him their love" says Lydia Polgreen..he earned respect from people that made him a great person. Mr. Mandela also spent 27 years in prison after being convicted of treason by the white minority government. Finally, I believe that Nelson Mandela was important because he was not just the first black leader of his nation but also earned a Nobel Peace Prize. R.I.P Nelson Mandela July 18, 1918- December 05,2013.

Nelson Mandela

What i found something interesting is that, he was the first black president and he had an enduring icon of the struggle against racial oppression. Also, he spent 27 years in prison after being convicted by the white minority government.

Nelson Mandela

After  reading the article, I found interesting that he was the first black  South African president of his country, but I also found interesting that he declined to run for  his second term in office.

NELSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON

After reading this article , Mandela has been sent to jail for 27 years for being convicted of treason . In 1990 Mandela was released . Mandela was served as a president in South Africa . Many people from South Africa and many other countries / states were heart broken when Mandela has passed away . Mandela has saved many peoples life's through out his life .
Mr Mandela spent 27 years in prison after being convicted of treason by the white minority government only to forge a peaceful end to white rule by negotiating with his captors after his release in 1990.

Mandela and Obama both served as Te first black leaders of their nations

His death during a period of deep unease and painful self examination for South Africa.

Nelson Mandela

After reading this article I found intresting that before Nelson Mandela , there was actually segregation in Africa. Also I had no idea that Mr.Mandela was actually the first black president in Africa. I found this things really intresting due to my lack of knowledge in this subject. I really wish to learn more of the political history Africa.

Nelson Mandela

After reading about Nelson Mandela I think he was a great roll model for many people because of what he did I think he was a nice  person because I mean he was Put in jail for 27after being convicted of treason by the white minority government  . He was a great person in my opinion even though I didn't know about him or what he did few days ago .

Nelson Mandela

After reading the article about Mandela's death, I personally think I still don't know who he was. I didn't want to do research about him because since I don't know who is he I just decided to read the article and a have a real opinion of him based on that source. It's easily to google his name and get information about him and come back here and write that he did this and that. I'm surprised I never have heard people mention his name until Thursday even the president of the U.S talked about him Thursday evening. By reading this article it seems that Nelson Mandela was a very kind man wanting to change the world. People have nothing to say but positive things about him which makes me think he was a great person but I need evidence what did he really do, why are people so sadden about his death? Yes, he went to prison for 27 years which is a really long period of time and let me tell you he seems like a strong man because after that he became president of South Africa. Overall by the looks of it he went through some tough events in his life and it sounds to me that he had hope in humanity and respected every living soul that cross him. He was like another Malcolm X.

Marigolds

Some people have difficulties in their life and obstacles come in the way but they have to get threw them and think positive.

In the story " Marigolds " it's about a girls that's sad and angry because she lives in poverty, so she takes it out on somebody she destroys some yellow blooms and starts pulling them with anger & the garden it's destroy. She's so mad because her mother/ dad didn't had jobs because of their skin color, & they live in poverty so they can't really do anything. in the quote " I leaped furiously into the mounds of marigolds and pulled madly, trampling and pulling and destroying the perfect yellow blooms. " This quote is saying that she was so angry she destroyed the person garden by taking all her anger on it.

"Marigolds"

Many people struggle in life, they have difficult situations through which they have to live. I believe that you have to focus on the positive things about life . In the story  "Marigolds" by Eugenia Collier lizabeth learns that everyone has problems but they try to hold themselves with something positive in negative or hard times.

In the story the author says, "only an old woman who had dared to create beauty in the modest of ugliness sterility". This quote shows that Miss Lottie had tried to have something in which she saw hope in,even in the middle of something ugly or negative. There fore people should try to have faith or hope in something small and not focus on all the bad stuff.

MARIGOLDS

In the poem " Marigold" An old woman in a poor neighborhood plants marigolds in her front yard, only to have the neighborhood brats destroy them. The children act out of their fear and resentment of Miss Lottie: "For some perverse reason, we children hated those marigolds. They interfered with the perfect ugliness of the place . . . . "Lizabeth," fells shame afterwards. Then that night she overhears her parents talking--her father has evidently lost his job--and realizes how bleak and grim their life, which until then she had taken for granted because it was no different from the lives of everyone else in their community, really is. In an attempt to strike out at these circumstances, she runs back to Miss Lottie's house and uproots what's left of the marigolds. Only when Miss Lottie comes out of the house does Lizabeth see her as someone eliciting not fear but compassion: "The witch was no longer a witch but only a broken old woman who had dared to create beauty in the midst of ugliness and sterility." The story ends, "[Miss Lottie] never planted marigolds again. Yet there are times when the image of those passionate yellow mounds returns with a painful poignancy. For one doesn't have to be ignorant and poor to find that life is barren as the dusty roads of our town. And I too have planted marigolds."
Many people think that In during difficult times they should punish other people or themselves. Many people think that Messing with other peoples stuff  is the right answer to everything in life. In this story called Marigolds by Eugenia Collier talks about Messing with other peoples stuff and her get to you  can get you in a bad position and how it can makes things worse and make other people feel down. During Marigolds depression time era , Lizabeth and her friends were to throw rocks at Miss Lo ties garden . In my opinion people shuold'nt take take advantage of someone elses happiness just because they have nothing to do with there lives because that can put someone elses life in jeopardy .

I believe that when people are struggling in life , they shouldn't harm other people just to make themselves happy because that is selfish. The story " Marigolds" by Eugenia Collier is about A girl named Lizbeth and her other friends picking on an old lady named Miss Lotie to pass time . In the story Lizbeth was filled with anger because her father got fired from his job and wept because he didn't have moeny to provide his family food and shelter and Lizbeth was frustrated and angered and rushed to Miss Lotties garden and stomped on her flowers . And she guilty guilty after that. In this part the Narrator states " The witch was no longer a witch but only a broken old woman who had dared to create beauty in the midst of ugly and sterility. This shows that Lizbeth was guilty because what she had done was wrong because she destroyed a poor innocent women property.
